Statistics Committee update--First official Pulse is a success!

The new CSIA Pulse program has completed its first official report. Thanks to all those companies who contributed peer-comparison data for the past four quarters ending in September 2015. Below is a bar chart showing statistics on thelabor multiple parameter.

The CSIA Pulse collects data on this parameter and other meaningful performance parameters such as revenue per employee, utilization, and days in backlog.

CSIA Pulse uses an Excel workbook to collect your data entries. For security, you need to login to your account (everyone has one) and click on a link to download the workbook. Once you have entered the data, you upload the workbook into iLumen, again securely via an account login.
This workbook is full of useful information! For example:
Cells for four past quarters for on-the-spot trending review
Descriptions of the company performance parameters
Calculations for computing ratios and other key performance indicators
An email link for requesting help and making suggestions

The workbook approach offers a benefit over using a webpage for data entry since you have access to your data as a standard Excel file for use however you wish.

Every member company has a free account
Every (and I mean every) CSIA member has a free iLumen account for the Pulse. Your company received an email from iLumen in early October with instructions to complete your account setup with a password. If you did not participate in this first Pulse data collection, perhaps because the email was sent to someone else in your company, and you wish to do so next quarter, please contact pulse@controlsys.org or Emily Wiseman at CSIA, 800-661-4914, toll free in United States.

Access to peer-comparison reporting
With your free account you can download the Excel workbook, but you will not be able to retrieve the peer-comparison report. The report is available for a minimal $350 annual fee.

Reminder that the Salary Survey is always open
Don’t forget that the Salary Survey is open anytime your company needs statistics on employee salaries. I just wanted to give you a friendly reminder that CSIA offers data on salaries as well as company financial performance.
