Our Latin America operation continues to grow and strengthen itself, as we look to deliver on the aggressive LATAM membership goals for this year.
We have added a support person to the LATAM team. Lucy Vega will be in charge of logistics and administration for the region, and is based out of Mexico City. She replaces the previous support entity that was also based out of Mexico.
We successfully held our second quarterly event, which represents the first one held in 2016. It was sponsored by Anixter and held at their central offices in Mexico. Steve Dean, vice president of sales and industrial communications and controls at Anixter joined us for the event. We had great attendance: 30 people came, representing a mix of both CSIA members and new prospects. Anixter gave a great presentation on IoT. CSIA CEO Jose Rivera presented our association, who we are and what we do to help SIs. Anixter will continue to support these activities throughout the region.
We want to encourage our LATAM members to take advantage of the in-person Best Practices training taking place on Monday and Tuesday, April 18-19, right before the CSIA Executive Conference in Puerto Rico. During the conference, we also plan to have a LATAM meeting to review activities in our region and discuss ideas for improvement. We can’t wait to see you in Puerto Rico!
