CSIA staff is often contacted by editors from industry publications asking for member input regarding featured editorial topics, case studies or blog participation. There are many options for getting your organization featured in the media, and CSIA is here to assist you.
Watch the Open Forum in CSIA’s Connected Community for media opportunities. This is where we post announcements when editors are seeking input and participation from CSIA members. If it’s hard to remember to log in regularly and check for new Open Forum postings, you can adjust your account settings so that you receive automatic daily emails summarizing Open Forum activity. [Next to your photo in the upper right-hand corner, click the drop down arrow, then Profile > My Account > Email Preferences] If you see an opportunity that fits your area of expertise, be sure to let us know right away. We will work with you to get the process going, make sure you understand any particular guidelines for a given publication or opportunity and facilitate the submission.
CSIA members have tons of experience, technical know-how and success stories to share, but often do not have the time or personnel to get articles written. To help you in this regard, CSIA has compiled a list of freelance authors who can help you develop case studies or blog posts. Please contact me if you need help connecting with a writer.
Occasionally, the reverse happens. CSIA members sometimes put a piece together without having a particular media outlet or placement in mind. Please send it our way, and we will run it past different editors to see if they can use it. If not, we will keep it handy in case an appropriate media request does come across our radar.
In addition to increasing marketplace recognition of your company, a huge benefit of media coverage is that it almost always provides links to your website, which is awesome for your organization’s SEO. In addition to the media coverage itself, CSIA further helps maximize a member's publicity by announcing the coverage in the Connected Community, and by promoting it via our social media channels.
