Committee takes into account vital perspectives of Partner members

The Partner Committee is one of nine standing committees at CSIA. It is made up of both partner and system integrator members. This committee tackles issues where partners play a key role. One example is planning for the Expo at the Executive Conference. During the August committee conference call, CSIA staff members Lynda Patterson, president, and Brittany Olson, event manager, shared options being considered for the Expo at the 2016 Executive Conference in Puerto Rico. The options were developed based on input received from companies attending the Expo at past conferences. The committee provided their feedback through a vote, and the staff is now busy working to deliver.

Another current, yet less typical, involvement of this committee is the development of a possible model that could help integrators view the certification process as more achievable, and that celebrates reaching certain milestones. A task force has been set up to create a model beyond the original outline, which will be discussed at the September Partner Committee meeting.

One unique component of this committee is that it meets in person once a year, outside of the Executive Conference. Members contribute their own time and cost to attend. For 2015, we will meet Sept. 15-16 in Milwaukee. Rockwell Automation has graciously offered their facilities to host the meeting. One important topic will be Partner input to the CSIA strategic planning process, which will take place during October. We look forward to sharing the results of this meeting in next month’s newsletter.

Partner Committee co-chairs are John Weber (Software Toolbox) and Jose Rivera (CSIA).
