A licensed professional engineer, Ray earned his B.S. Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia Institute of Technology. He has worked in the power generation industry as a start up engineer, the air handling industry, pneumatic conveying and dust control industries, and finally in the control industry as a systems integrator. Ray also managed a 186-man maintenance facility in 1970 and 1971 while on active duty with the U.S. Army.
