Warming up for the Industrial Automation Exchange

The days before a new website launches are filled with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. It’s the ninth inning, and whether you’re the coach, the pitcher, the batter or the fan, you know that the outcome depends on hundreds of variables over which you have little or no control.

I feel that way about the new Industrial Automation Exchange, which is now in the capable hands of the programming team at Diamax, the software-as-a-service developer and host of the Exchange. While I’m pacing in the dugout, I feel confident that the decisions that brought us to this point have been sound ones.

CSIA thoroughly vetted various service providers and chose Diamax. They have exceeded our expectations by incorporating features that will distinguish the Exchange as a unique platform for online commerce and discourse.

We interviewed several candidates for the position of Exchange Community Manager. Eric Huemmer joined our staff in mid-January and quickly embraced the concept of a digital community and the marketing potential the Exchange offers our integrator and partner members. Participating in the site development has given him a thorough understanding of the Exchange and its capabilities.

Many people – members and staff – have been involved in the creation of the Exchange. While we all patiently wait for the “go live” signal, we also know that this isn’t a single game; it isn’t even a single season. The Exchange will continue to evolve as you – the members of the community – contribute information and ideas. Stay tuned – the game is about to begin!
