I was communicating with a new member, Falcon Ingenieria in Honduras, and Miguel wrote to me asking about good KPIs for system integrators to use.  I recalled a conversation on Connected Community a long time ago so I searched CC and sure enough it was back in 2010.  So I wrote back to Miguel explaining how to find it and he wrote to me saying that he had already discovered it.  So I wrote back again telling him I was impressed that he discovered the gold nugget he was after.  Then he wrote the following to me: [more]

Integrator and Partner members, do you have expertise in data security or mobility applications?  Would you be interested in sharing your expertise by being a presenter at the Industrial Automation-North America Show in Chicago Sept. 10-15?  Bob Vavra of CFE Media contacted me about presenters so I want to share the opportunity with our members.  It's good exposure for your company and hopefully you'll put in a good word for CSIA!   [more]

There has never been a topic in Open Forum like Project Time Tracking.  The thread has experienced a record breaking number of replies and the topic has broadened to become much more then the title of the first entry cited, "Project Time Tracking".  This is CSIA Open Forum at its best.  It's what it's meant to be, a place where business discussions ensue that are focused on the business of building a better CSI company.  LinkedIn just doesn't compare.  LinkedIn gets diluted by technical talk and people who are not into the management of a CSI company in some way, shape or form. CSIA Open Forum is like being at the CSIA Annual Executive Conference rubbing elbows and comparing ideas with people meeting the same business challenges as you. It doesn't get any better than this. Although this blog is about a white paper from the US Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS), it is for all members, from New Zealand to Germany to Peru.  CSIA hosted our Feb. and March webinars on the topic of Cyber Security because it is a hot topic for our members and their clients. In doing so we developed a relationship with the head of the DHS section focused on industrial applications, Lisa Kaiser.  She recently sent me a whitepaper called "Recognizing and Avoiding Spear Phishing".  It's in the "Member Resources for Managing Your Business" library.  It's worth a few minutes of your time.
